Info The neon sign at the entrance to the Wonder Wheel, a 150-foot-tall ferris wheel at Coney Island in New York. An iconic cultural monument (there is a film named after it), the Wonder Wheel was built in 1920 and is an 'eccentric ferris wheel' in which some of the passenger cabins are not fixed directly to the rim of the wheel, but instead slide along sets of rails between the hub and the rim. It's the second-largest ferris wheel of this kind in the world and certainly the most famous (the largest is a near-exact replica of it).
