Datasets about potential logos - July 2025 uploads

Hi all, we have released a new dataset of potential logos uploaded in July 2025, together with another one of those which have already been deleted as of 2025-08-02. We are sharing them with you for your consideration.

This is part of our current work with the logo detection tool. We hope it will be useful for your moderation activities.

Revdel location from exif in old files

Hi, I found out some images I uploaded over 10 years ago leaked private location data in the exif info. A bot also added coords to the image description. Could anyone revdel those? It's in my recent contribs, if needed I can send a full list. Thanks! Mirabile (talk) 04:19, 3 August 2025 (UTC)

•  Weak support This is a classic example of a good-faith user who scaled up too quickly, didn't fully internalize Commons standards, and is now caught between defending themselves and trying to rebuild trust. I believe there's value in giving them a strictly conditional second chance, such as upload caps paired with visible cleanup progress. An indefinite upload block risks turning away someone who could eventually become a strong contributor if properly guided. A narrow unblock (e.g. 5–10 uploads/day, enforced cleanup ratio) allows us to test that hypothesis while minimizing risk. --Jonatan Svensson Glad (talk) 16:59, 5 August 2025 (UTC)

SecretName101 has uploaded 1000+ copyvios since two blocks for copyvios, and 1000+ duplicates (most of them duplicates of his past uploads) since an additional block for duplicates. He refuses to commit to any specific plan to clean up the hundreds of thousands of improperly curated images he previously uploaded. His responses indicate that he does not understand why his behavior is a problem or why the community needs him to change it; they include outright denials of receiving warnings that I have documented. Dozens of uploads by User:Haisollokopas are not properly licensed

User:Haisollokopas has uploaded dozens of files which they claim to be the orginal author of, which are extremely unlikely to be the case. Some examples are:

Haisollokopas is obviously not the original author of SS Division logos or the logo of the Italian Communist Party. These are either direct duplicates or recreations of real symbols, logos, military insignia and flags.

Can this be rectified by altering the licensing for these files, or do they need to be mass deleted? This may be a mass copyvio situation.

I was going to add the notification template to Haisollokopas's talk page but I see that @Ahonc: has already indefinitely blocked Haisollokopas for uploading too many non-free files.

Request for file replacement: File:Hidaka in Kochi Prefecture Ja.svg

Hello, I would like to request the replacement of the following file due to incorrect municipal classification in the map.

The current file contains outdated or incorrect color coding for certain municipalities in Kōchi Prefecture, Japan. A corrected version has been uploaded under the name: File:Hidaka in Kochi Prefecture Ja.svg (or a new file name if renamed).

Could an administrator please review and consider replacing the original file with the corrected version? Thank you.

Could admin take a look at File:240816 서울월드컵경기장 (김영광).jpg? It was nominated for deletion by an IP; however, the DR syntax on the file's page is malformed and a corresponding DR discussion was never created. The IP is claiming the file was uploaded by a sock puppet on Korean Wikipedia, but the file was uploaded by a Commons administrator named Explicit, whose also an English Wikipedia administrator, as "own work" with corroborating EXIF data; so, the claim that this is fair use seems misguided at best and perhaps retaliatory at worst. -- Marchjuly (talk) 00:37, 7 August 2025 (UTC)
